Dear Friends of European Table Tennis,
On behalf of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) it is my great honour and pleasure to welcome all players, coaches, officials, umpires, equipment and other sponsors and spectators to the European Under 21 Championships 2020 in Varazdin, Croatia.
This year the ETTU entrusts the Croatian Table Tennis Association with the hosting of our two most important youth events. The city of Varazdin will be the home of the European Under 21 Championships, while the European Youth Championships will be held in Zagreb in July, just in four months. The experience and the skills of the Croatian Association will be the guarantee of successfully organised events, I am sure.
2020 is the fourth year of the European Under 21 Championships. At the previous three occasions players from 15 associations won gold medals. This year players from 27 countries will have the opportunity to crown their performance with a medal.
Top performance from top players at top event is to be expected once again and I am sure that table tennis interested spectators will enjoy interesting contests from the young and upcoming stars of Europe.
I wish all players the best possible results, all spectators and everyone involved a wonderful, successful and exciting table tennis event - this time in Varazdin, Croatia!

Climate

Hall
Varaždin Arena is a multi-use indoor arena in Varaždin, Croatia. It is used mostly for team handball and basketball matches. The stadium has a capacity of 5,400 people. It was used as one of the venues during the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. It hosted all the Group C matches which consisted of Germany, Macedonia, Algeria, Poland, Russia and Algeria. The arena was officially opened on 6 December 2008. The arena has played host to various events other than sports, such as dancing championships, various expos, school affiliated events, circuses, auto-shows, and concerts.
About Varaždin
Varaždin is a city in Northern Croatia, 81 km (50 mi) north of Zagreb. The total population is 46,946. The centre of Varaždin County is located near the Drava River. Varaždin is the city of baroque, young people, music, flowers and bicycles. „Little Vienna“ with rich natural legacy interwoven in parks, a must see destination.
